Years ago, Tim and I lived in a townhouse in Halifax with Logan when he was a baby. We loved dreaming up our ideal home and promised that one day we would live in it. When we decided to move out of the townhouse, we designed and built our dream house.
At the time, we couldn’t afford all of the things we dreamed of having in the house so we designed the layout the way we wanted, but on the inside, there were still a lot of things that we had to wait for.
For years we used hand-me-down furniture and had hardly any decorations on the walls. Now, we’re at a place in our lives where we can finally finish the home we always imagined!
Last year we started to buy some new furniture and said goodbye to the hand-me-downs and this year we hired a contractor (thank you Fine Edge Carpentry!) to come in and start the renovations.
Now everything in our house is covered in plastic wrap and we’ve got “no-go” zones in the house while the contractors do their work…as if our life wasn’t crazy enough!
The first project for the contractors starts in our living room. They are going to be adding a rock wall, something I’ve always wanted! We are also adding columns and a beautiful fireplace.
Tim and I love hosting our friends so we want the living room to be a place where we can enjoy the company of our friends and family. I can’t wait to see what the end product will look like!!
We’ll be doing a lot of small projects so I’ll keep you updated as the work continues around the house!! STAY TUNED.
